Luis Bladi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Bladi, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 25 minutes in the game, Eliseo Mina fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Christer Olsson having to interfere. After having played for 29 minutes, Milagros Fraga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Milagros Fraga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 33rd minute of play forced Annedal FC's goalkeeper Christer Olsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luz Tejedor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rolando Noboa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luis Bladi's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Christer Olsson made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. Eliseo Mina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Annedal FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Peder Forsberg hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Annedal FC defense, Julian Murillo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christer Olsson. The Annedal FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christer Olsson should have stopped the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luis Bladi was the one to do the kick off. In the 87th minute of the match, Luis Bladi got a very nice opportunity to score, but Rolando Noboa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Christer Olsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Gallo in the 92nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonio Tenorio in the 94th minute of play forced Annedal FC's goalkeeper Christer Olsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
