The referee ignored Elmtaryd Agunnaryd's protests and gave Bertil Göransson a yellow card for diving instead. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Elmtaryd Agunnaryd getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Eddie Hake hit a great ball. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Juračka, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 18th minute, Lautaro Mancebo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aaron Ramsdal was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Elmtaryd Agunnaryd's Aaron Ramsdal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 21st minute of play. If Hardy Haryanto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Vincent Traks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 28 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Ettah Kaká came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aaron Ramsdal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Martin Juračka kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. In the 38th minute of the match Bertil Göransson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dante Lacasa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Joel Gaona might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aaron Ramsdal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joel Gaona ran back to his position shaking his head. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Elmtaryd Agunnaryd's Elliott Bergman got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Aaron Ramsdal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martin Juračka in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Elmtaryd Agunnaryd's Bertil Göransson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dante Lacasa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 57th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron Ramsdal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bertil Göransson hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aaron Ramsdal having to interfere. Aaron Ramsdal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 69th minute of the match. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 70th minute. 72 minutes into the game, Martin Juračka cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Dante Lacasa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Lorenzo Cazalla hit a great ball. Elmtaryd Agunnaryd made a substitution. Knut Rang replaced Ralf Smedfeldt. After 82 minutes Mexico's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bertil Göransson who took care of the corner kick. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hardy Haryanto in the 84th minute of play. Felix Luque hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Elmtaryd Agunnaryd made a substitution. Sten Dum replaced Martin Juračka. After 88 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Felix Luque. Mexico's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
