Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Costin Giugiuc having to interfere. A.C. Milan's Costin Giugiuc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 19th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Costică Chiriloaie kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 2-0 in the 22 minute of play. Radowit Lewicki hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute, Flavius Dragotescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Venezuela booed when A.C. Milan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavius Dragotescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute, Tomas Illescas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 39th minute Emil Gheară shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurelio Mederi in the 41st minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Illescas to maneuver through the defense. 66 minutes into the match, Aurelio Mederi notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. If Costică Chiriloaie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emil Gheară in the 92nd minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aurelio Mederi's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. Aurelio Mederi made a great header on A.C. Milan's corner, it was just that Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant managed to reach the ball for a save. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dumitru Zdrăilă, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. A.C. Milan's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
