The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Stream Sponsoren's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. A collision led to Stream Sponsoren getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Vincent Eliasson hit a great ball. Birger Påk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 22nd minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Rasmus Ljungberg was slow to take the kick. During this time Stream Sponsoren's players had a chance to rest. The Stream Sponsoren players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Birger Påk came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Felix Montenegro. But to his dismay, Felix Montenegro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 90th minute Lex Immers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Birger Påk having to make a save.
