Cristian Sancho scored 0-1 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Karl-Åke Lidström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Åke Lidström having to interfere. When Jörn Erserman came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Blomstermåla BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jörn Erserman couldn't finish the play. Karl-Åke Lidström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute of the match. After 23 minutes, Cristian Sancho made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Blomstermåla BK's Karl-Åke Lidström tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jörn Erserman, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Arnulfo Ongile tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Blomstermåla BK's Carl Nordlander got a free kick in the 31st minute. Blomstermåla BK's Karl-Åke Lidström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 34th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Karl-Åke Lidström saved Blomstermåla BK from getting behind. Marek Panasewicz kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Blomstermåla BK's Zé Domingues got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Karl-Åke Lidström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 45th minute of play. When Daniel Zorita fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Daniel Zorita a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Daniel Zorita hit a great ball. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilbert Rasimowicz in the 51st minute of play. 53 minutes into the game, Antonio Arias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Blomstermåla BK the free kick. After 53 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ecuador! Julio Vera had in the 54thth minute some difficulties stopping Timoteo Mincho's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Montenegro got free with Karl-Åke Lidström in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 64 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Leonard Smed came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Blomstermåla BK booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pär Skoglund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. If Pär Skoglund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Blomstermåla BK's Zé Domingues got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The supporters of Blomstermåla BK booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Åke Lidström having to interfere. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
