The referee ignored El Salvador's protests and gave Jorge Magrina a yellow card for diving instead. If Waldemar Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. Moises Fernandino was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 35th minute. El Salvador's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 37 minutes into the match, Abram Luque had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leonardo Moreira. Capivariano F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abram Luque was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Capivariano F.C.'s goalkeeper Leonardo Moreira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Waldemar Batista made a kick off. Arthur Perez hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. 55 minutes into the match, El Salvador's Mateo Leguizamo broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Capivariano F.C.'s Leonardo Moreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Luque in the 60th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Moises Fernandino notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Capivariano F.C.'s Leonardo Moreira. Leonardo Moreira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marco Tamayo during the 64th minute. The supporters of El Salvador booed when Capivariano F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waldemar Batista didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Moises Fernandino hit a great ball. After 88 played minutes Capivariano F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão Souza. Júlio Machado made in the 95th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by El Salvador's Luis Rubio. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The El Salvador fans cheered their team off the field, for while Capivariano F.C. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
