Jesus Sayveon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 7th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jesus Sayveon. Athletico Picapedrense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Lacasa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Athletico Picapedrense's goalkeeper Jesus Sayveon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Athletico Picapedrense's Jesus Sayveon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 42nd minute of play. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jesus Sayveon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. Athletico Picapedrense's Lorenzo Jubera was substituted for Zenon Klewinski. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eloi Fontanella in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thiago Pliego saved Chile from getting behind. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Jesus Sayveon made a huge save. Mariano Lacasa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesus Sayveon having to interfere. After 64 played minutes Mariano Lacasa rounded Athletico Picapedrense's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-3. 68 minutes into the game, Ivón Nafría was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Athletico Picapedrense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chile the free kick. Ivón Nafría kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mariano Lacasa in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jesus Sayveon saved Athletico Picapedrense from getting behind. After 76 minutes Athletico Picapedrense's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mariano Lacasa who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Chile's Francisco Carballar to fire away a dangerous shot which Jesus Sayveon despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Jesus Sayveon made a huge save. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlondo Aguado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 93 played minutes Athletico Picapedrense got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Jubera. In the 97th minute, Eloi Fontanella got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Athletico Picapedrense fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Chile were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
