Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edwin Eberl in the 7th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Rufus Bangert threw himself towards the right post 8 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 20th minute Sven Appenzeller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven Appenzeller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Irmin Michalsky, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. When Lautaro Mancebo came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Mancebo couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Irmin Michalsky in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edwin Eberl in the 32nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Luca Rouco got a free kick in the 34th minute. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven Appenzeller, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Alberto Tafalla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rufus Bangert read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Luca Rouco hit a great ball. After 46 played minutes Großberghofen got a freekick which was hit by Markus Bechert. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edwin Eberl in the 53rd minute of play. Rufus Bangert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 55th minute of the match. Rufus Bangert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 62nd minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Edwin Eberl came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Alberto Tafalla fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mexico's protests and gave Alberto Tafalla a yellow card for diving instead. Alberto Tafalla hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Irmin Michalsky sent off a good shot on target. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice moves Odo Uedickoven could shoot a difficult shot in the 94th minute, which Dante Lacasa however easily saved by the left post. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
