Amuruza Lillo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Junta De Los Rios CF's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Zorita came free, but Amuruza Lillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th match minute, Junta De Los Rios CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fructuoso Olle to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, Junta De Los Rios CF's Dante Lacasa threw himself towards the right post 41 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Baudelio Echavarri, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Facundo Cadaval managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Facundo Cadaval was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amuruza Lillo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amuruza Lillo having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mané Balcells, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 77 played minutes Junta De Los Rios CF got a freekick which was hit by Ferrando Astudillo. Junta De Los Rios CF's Amuruza Lillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 85th minute of play. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 86th minute after Junta De Los Rios CF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. The corner ended in Alberto Tafalla almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Junta De Los Rios CF's Amuruza Lillo did a great save. When the match was over Mexico could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Junta De Los Rios CF throughout the match.
