Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert got a free kick in the 18th minute. Durmuş Demirel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Başar Tanyel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Başar Tanyel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of AtletikEdirne's Başar Tanyel. Başar Tanyel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Venezuela booed when AtletikEdirne was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Halil Can Ulukut didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Atahan Mete during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to AtletikEdirne getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Atahan Mete hit a great ball. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 44th minute of play forced AtletikEdirne's goalkeeper Başar Tanyel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Başar Tanyel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 45th minute of play. After the first half Venezuela were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, AtletikEdirne's Halil Can Ulukut got a free kick in the 55th minute. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 69 minutes, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Başar Tanyel made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. Tümer Karadeniz struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AtletikEdirne. AtletikEdirne's Başar Tanyel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save AtletikEdirne from getting a goal against them. 84 minutes into the match, Aydın Ulukan notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by AtletikEdirne's Tümer Karadeniz. But to his dismay, Tümer Karadeniz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Venezuela's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
