Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ciro Moscatelli didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Scofield Vinciguerra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Ciro Moscatelli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 14 minutes, Scofield Vinciguerra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Acilia Town's supporters crossed their fingers, but Scofield Vinciguerra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 17thth minute of the game Cristian Sancho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Acilia Town's Ciro Moscatelli was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Acilia Town's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Ciro Moscatelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Acilia Town's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciro Moscatelli came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Acilia Town's Ciro Moscatelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute of play. Primitivo Andino got a throw-in 32 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Felix Montenegro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 34th minute of play forced Acilia Town's goalkeeper Ciro Moscatelli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Scofield Vinciguerra's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ciro Moscatelli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 44 played minutes Acilia Town got a freekick which was hit by Aurelio Giampieri. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dieguinho Tande to strike the kick off in the second half. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The corner ended in Diego Tozzi almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. With a little luck, Acilia Town's Ciro Moscatelli got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 62nd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciro Moscatelli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Acilia Town's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Diego Tozzi in the 72nd minute. Camilo Gisbert tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Julio Vera. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-1 in the 72nd minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Recoba in the 75th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Aurelio Giampieri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felix Montenegro made in the 84th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Acilia Town's Ezequiel Ceballos. Dieguinho Tande recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Ciro Moscatelli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Acilia Town succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ecuador had controlled the match.
