The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Camilo Gaos a yellow card for diving instead. After 45 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Venezuela!

The crowd rose to their feet as Frisco Pascua kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 0-3 in the 88 minute of play. After having played for 96 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match was over S.D NARCEA could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Venezuela throughout the match.
