A hard shot 24 in the game by Daniel Zorita from a close distance when the talented Germán Figueres managed to make a qualified save. S.D NARCEA's players were relieved. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after S.D NARCEA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Boleslaw Pacholewski tried in the 25th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Germán Figueres a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 1-0. In the 29th minute, Manel Quintanilla left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.D NARCEA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 40 minutes into the match, S.D NARCEA's Manel Quintanilla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. S.D NARCEA's Germán Figueres proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save S.D NARCEA from getting a goal against them. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After 51 played minutes S.D NARCEA got a freekick which was hit by Manel Quintanilla. 56 minutes into the game, one of Ecuador:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ecuador:s Julio Vera showed great skill when he stopped Félix Zărnescu:s penalty. 57 minutes into the game, Félix Zărnescu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 63rd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Felix Montes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but S.D NARCEA's Germán Figueres did a great save. 67 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Manel Quintanilla. When Luis Andino fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Luis Andino a yellow card for diving instead. In the 68th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Andino to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of S.D NARCEA booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera was a little too slow when Pietro Macia got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 91st minute. The score was now 1-3. Germán Figueres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 96th minute of play.
