After having played for 24 minutes, Milagros Fraga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Milagros Fraga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emmanuel Reyes got a throw-in 29 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Milagros Fraga. A nice corner shot did that Joaquin Prats got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Leonard Rosen quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 44th minute Vitinho de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vitinho de Barros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play.

The wind increased when Vitinho de Barros made the kick off in the second half.
