Ezequiel Candela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santino Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jose-Manuel Alabern in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Manzanares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 21 played minutes Gowland got a freekick which was hit by Teofilo Marquez. 24 minutes into the match, Jose-Manuel Alabern had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jose-Manuel Alabern was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Abram Sarmiento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ezequiel Candela having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Santi Goyanes during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Santi Goyanes hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. 33 minutes in the game, Santino Seco fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ezequiel Candela having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Axel Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 40th minute Jose-Manuel Alabern shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ezequiel Candela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 43rd minute of play. In the 46th minute, Axel Montenegro made a precise shot to the right of Ezequiel Candela. Gowland's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Abram Sarmiento to strike the kick off in the second half. Gowland's Ezequiel Candela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santino Seco in the 52nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abram Sarmiento in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ezequiel Candela prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 58 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Jose-Manuel Alabern came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Jose-Manuel Alabern kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pedro Manzanares. That made the score 1-3 in the 62 minute of play. Gowland's Alfredo Fresnos was substituted for Santi Goyanes. Axel Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ezequiel Candela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 67th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfredo Fresnos in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Manzanares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ezequiel Candela came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Colombia's Axel Montenegro. But to his dismay, Axel Montenegro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. Gowland's Ezequiel Candela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Secada in the 80th minute of play. Ezequiel Candela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Secada in the 83rd minute of play. Kevin Mastache's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ezequiel Candela read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. After 88 played minutes Gowland got a freekick which was hit by Andrija Kažanegra. The supporters of Colombia booed when Gowland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrija Kažanegra didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Abram Secada notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of Gowland's Ezequiel Candela. Ezequiel Candela was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ignacio Mastache took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ezequiel Candela. Ezequiel Candela dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-3. Policarpio Dagora might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Manzanares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Policarpio Dagora ran back to his position shaking his head. Gowland's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
