Percival Magalhães hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Abram Luque's late challenge caught a Lakers FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abram Luque helped the player get up and apologised. After 8 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Abram Luque. Paulão Corrêa had in the 17thth minute some difficulties stopping Mateo Leguizamo's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 0-1 came in the 17th minute when Mateo Leguizamo all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Paulão Corrêa. Ronaldo Paes kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Moises Fernandino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Paulão Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricardo Zorita made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Adhemar Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. In the 28th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jesus Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. Moises Fernandino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. El Salvador's attentive Marco Tamayo managed to snatch the ball when Tiago Eger made a throw-in in the 40th minute of the game. Tiago Eger made in the 41st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Percival Magalhães however managed to control. El Salvador's Moises Fernandino got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Abram Luque was shown his second yellow card after 44 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Abram Luque got a free kick in the 45th minute. The Lakers FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. El Salvador were winning 0-1.

Adhemar Montenegro charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adhemar Montenegro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 56th match minute, Lakers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Percival Magalhães to maneuver through the defense. Mateo Leguizamo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Moises Fernandino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulão Corrêa having to interfere. In the 79th minute Sidnei Branco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of El Salvador booed when Lakers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Álvaro Paiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Moises Fernandino managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Salvador's supporters rose to their feet, but Moises Fernandino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulão Corrêa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lakers FC's Paulão Corrêa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Lakers FC from getting a goal against them. The long shot by Lorenzo Yepes in the 88th minute really tested Paulão Corrêa's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adhemar Montenegro in the 91st minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Lakers FC's goalkeeper Paulão Corrêa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Moises Fernandino. Percival Magalhães struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Ricardo Zorita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lakers FC. El Salvador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
