Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Eliseu Viana took the kick off in the first half of the match. The supporters of SC Prestimo booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alexandre Valério hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. In the 8th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olavo Paes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olavo Paes having to interfere. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 15th minute of play forced SC Prestimo's goalkeeper Olavo Paes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute of the match Agustín Saelices sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Olavo Paes skillfully saved the ball. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Luis Andino fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Olavo Paes quite easily take care of the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

With a little luck, SC Prestimo's Olavo Paes got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adão Brandão, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 55th minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hipólito Conde in the 56th minute of play. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 70 minutes into the match, SC Prestimo's goalkeeper Olavo Paes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. In the 71st minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 79th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Olavo Paes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseu Viana in the 89th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olavo Paes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
