The corner ended in Celal Kocakalp almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Felix Montenegro hit a great ball. Aytaç Dilsafa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Montenegro in the 11th minute. After 12 played minutes Bordo Mavi got a freekick which was hit by Yahya Kemal Özender. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 16thth minute of the game Mircea Chircu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Mircea Chircu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. When Luis Andino came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Andino couldn't finish the play. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Bekir Zühtü's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. In the 26th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tamás Maros in the 29th minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Bordo Mavi's goalkeeper Aytaç Dilsafa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 38th minute. Ecuador's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 44 played minutes Bordo Mavi got a freekick which was hit by Fabinho Branco. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Mircea Chircu made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Mircea Chircu tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mircea Chircu in the 52nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mircea Chircu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bordo Mavi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celal Kocakalp was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mircea Chircu in the 84th minute. Bordo Mavi's Aytaç Dilsafa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 93rd minute of play. In the 94th minute, Cristian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Although Ecuador had been in control for most of the match, Bordo Mavi still came away with the win.
