In the 8th minute of the match, Moises Fernandino got a very nice opportunity to score, but Turan Uluçam was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Marco Tamayo got a free kick in the 9th minute. The COLDPLAY fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when COLDPLAY's Ahmet Demir looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Abdurrahim Tunçkan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Mateo Leguizamo hit a great ball. Ricardo Zorita stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Codruț Domuță's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. After 23 minutes of play, COLDPLAY's Abdurrahim Tunçkan made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Zorita was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 28thth minute of the game Codruț Domuță who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lütfi Özil in the 36th minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, Abdurrahim Tunçkan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Ricardo Zorita was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmet Demir, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 43rd minute Codruț Domuță shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 45 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Codruț Domuță sped through El Salvador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. After the first half COLDPLAY were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Moises Fernandino was the one to do the kick off. After 56 minutes of play, COLDPLAY's Ahmet Demir made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Zorita was left in no man's land by his defense there! 59 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Codruț Domuță came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute Ahmet Demir shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ricardo Zorita stood somewhat misplaced when Codruț Domuță came free in front of goal and shot 0-8 to the left of him in the 68 minute. COLDPLAY's Hakkı Devrim Tuğrul was substituted for Lütfi Özil. When Valentino Ferrant fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Salvador's protests and gave Valentino Ferrant a yellow card for diving instead. Valentino Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. The COLDPLAY fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when COLDPLAY's Codruț Domuță looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Ahmet Demir could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Ricardo Zorita made a huge save. After 87 minutes of play, COLDPLAY's Codruț Domuță made it 0-10 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Zorita was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ricardo Zorita made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Ahmet Demir sent off a good shot on target. 91 minutes into the game, Abram Luque was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave COLDPLAY the free kick. With a little luck, El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita got control of the ball when Codruț Domuță tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Codruț Domuță in the 95th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Codruț Domuță put it in 0-11 from a short distance just to the right of Ricardo Zorita. COLDPLAY played a much better game than El Salvador and deserved their victory. The El Salvador players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
