In the 11th minute Eliseo Noboa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Octav Stratulat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lautaro Puig's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Octav Stratulat firmly grabbed it by the left post. Lucian Ipate's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Hugo Ferrant's late challenge caught a FC Liverpool YnWa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hugo Ferrant helped the player get up and apologised. FC Liverpool YnWa made a substitution. Panait Teodoroiu replaced Leonard Groșan. The supporters of FC Liverpool YnWa booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alexandru Anton struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Liverpool YnWa. FC Liverpool YnWa's Octav Stratulat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 28th minute of play. Axel Tasis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Octav Stratulat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Axel Tasis made a precise shot to the right of Octav Stratulat. FC Liverpool YnWa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in FC Liverpool YnWa's zone, Eliseo Noboa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octav Stratulat came out of the goal and Eliseo Noboa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Eliseo Noboa came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Costa Rica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliseo Noboa couldn't finish the play. Hugo Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Alexandru Anton struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Liverpool YnWa. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The supporters of Costa Rica booed when FC Liverpool YnWa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dumitru Nedelciu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Liverpool YnWa's goalkeeper Octav Stratulat, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lucian Ipate who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of Benito Sanz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Octav Stratulat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Tasis in the 57th minute of play. Octav Stratulat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Tasis in the 58th minute of the match. Axel Tasis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octav Stratulat having to interfere. In the 67th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Rubio to maneuver through the defense. After 69 minutes of play Costa Rica's Hugo Ferrant was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 72 minutes into the match, FC Liverpool YnWa's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Noboa came free, but Octav Stratulat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 74 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. In the 86th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Puig to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Alexandru Anton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Alexandru Anton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Costa Rica's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
