Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Luigi Di Maio sent off a good shot on target. 19 minutes into the match, Luigi Di Maio notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 24th match minute, Atletico Roma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmondo Colella to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Luigi Di Maio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Christian Felice took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luigi Di Maio in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 38 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luigi Di Maio. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Atletico Roma's Amerigo Loreto was substituted for Luigi Di Maio. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Guillermo Mariano got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Christian Felice made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christian Felice. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. 67 minutes into the game, Edmondo Colella was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atletico Roma's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. After 67 played minutes Atletico Roma got a freekick which was hit by Edmondo Colella. Atletico Roma's Jeronimo Barreiro was substituted for Antonello Coco. In the 68th match minute, Atletico Roma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edmondo Colella to maneuver through the defense. Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Christian Felice. Christian Felice dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. If Edmondo Colella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Atletico Roma booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amerigo Loreto in the 84th minute of play. Camilo Gaos charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Camilo Gaos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 91st minute. Atletico Roma's Amerigo Loreto got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Enzo Rossetti hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Atletico Roma walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
