Jacobo Nores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Santamaria in the 17th minute of the match. The supporters of Real Madrid de Guatemala booed when Paraguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Campos didn't get a good kick on the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Real Madrid de Guatemala's Nicolás Guerrero broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Angel Botello kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carmelo Sifon in the 29th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leopoldo Noyola during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Real Madrid de Guatemala's Leopoldo Noyola got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carmelo Sifon in the 37th minute of play. In the 40th minute Cristian Santamaria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hector Covarrubias charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hector Covarrubias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carmelo Sifon in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacobo Nores prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Carmelo Sifon who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Jacobo Nores when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Carmelo Sifons short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Jacobo Nores to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 59th match minute, Paraguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iker Tafalla to maneuver through the defense. Nicolás Guerrero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jacobo Nores read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. A collision led to Paraguay getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Primitivo Escribano hit a great ball. In the 64th minute, Hector Covarrubias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carmelo Sifon struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Jacobo Nores didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Madrid de Guatemala. Emiliano Anaya made in the 70th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Paraguay's Xavier Zoido. After 71st play minutes Carmelo Sifon shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Jacobo Nores and just under the crossbar into goal. 74 minutes into the game, Real Madrid de Guatemala's Carmelo Sifon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jacobo Nores made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Primitivo Escribano got a free kick in the 78th minute. Angel Botello's late challenge caught a Paraguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Angel Botello helped the player get up and apologised. Angel Botello hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. In the 93rd minute of the game, Leopoldo Noyola landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. When Jaime Pardo fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paraguay's protests and gave Jaime Pardo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 94th minute, Jaime Pardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 95 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Escribano. When Carmelo Sifon came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Real Madrid de Guatemala fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carmelo Sifon couldn't finish the play. Real Madrid de Guatemala's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
