An unexpectedly hard shot by Erwann Patrice in the 8th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Junior Quintana tried to sneak it across the goal line. 9 minutes into the match, Junior Quintana notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Julio Vera was a little too slow when Junior Quintana got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 13th minute. The score was now 2-0. In the 18th minute, Cosa nostra Lyon's Junior Quintana ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Julio Vera. Julio Vera yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. After a rather tough play, Cosa nostra Lyon's Zé Moreno got a free kick in the 21st minute. Clem Fath showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 22nd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Cosa nostra Lyon defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Clem Fath. The Cosa nostra Lyon fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Clem Fath should have stopped the shot. In the 30thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cosa nostra Lyon's Clem Fath was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 31 played minutes Cosa nostra Lyon got a freekick which was hit by Zé Moreno. 33 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Erwann Patrice came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clem Fath took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erwann Patrice in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 39 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Félicien Boidin who took care of the corner kick. 40 minutes into the match, Cosa nostra Lyon's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Clem Fath reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clem Fath saved Cosa nostra Lyon from getting behind. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erwann Patrice stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Erwann Patrice had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erwann Patrice in the 60th minute of play. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 63rd minute. In the 66th minute of the match, Antonio Arias tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Clem Fath saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 67th minute, Erwann Patrice ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Cosa nostra Lyon made a substitution. Davy Patron replaced Willy Hautefeuille. In the 73rd minute, Erwann Patrice got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bacary Kerneis, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute.
