When Mózes Bartha, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 26 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Jonathan Ferrant was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 30thth minute of the game István Szőlősi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tomas Illescas kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nándor Jászberényi in the 34th minute of play. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Szombathelyi Haladás was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. István Szőlősi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 39 played minutes Szombathelyi Haladás got a freekick which was hit by Gusztáv Détári. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mózes Bartha in the 46th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Andor Mester tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Andor Mester didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Jose Correa made a great header on Venezuela's corner, it was just that Szombathelyi Haladás's Andor Mester managed to reach the ball for a save. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Szombathelyi Haladás was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mózes Bartha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
