Lennart Bjurström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. The supporters of Mjällby AIF booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. The throw-in from Ivan Wahlnäs in the 13th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Venezuela's Alex Chicote. In the 18th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. 21 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Saltuk Arabacıoğlu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Saltuk Arabacıoğlu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd match minute, Mjällby AIF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Wahlnäs to maneuver through the defense. Saltuk Arabacıoğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 35th minute of play. Saltuk Arabacıoğlu came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. If Jose Correa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Uno Kilman to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Mjällby AIF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aleksander Kosmatka to maneuver through the defense. Ivan Wahlnäs made in the 54th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Nils-Erik Blomqvist however managed to control. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 63rd minute. Uno Kilman might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Uno Kilman ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 67th minute, Uno Kilman made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. After 70 played minutes Mjällby AIF got a freekick which was hit by Joseph Stalin. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Uno Kilman, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Uno Kilman in the 75th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Mjällby AIF's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Saltuk Arabacıoğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saltuk Arabacıoğlu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Tomas Illescas put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Saltuk Arabacıoğlu. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Uno Kilman in the 85th minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Mjällby AIF's goalkeeper Saltuk Arabacıoğlu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Patricio Costa. Saltuk Arabacıoğlu was out of position in the 91 minute of play, and Tomas Illescas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tomas Illescas really showed his touch with that goal: 1-5. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Mjällby AIF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Wahlnäs didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Mjällby AIF lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
