Cemil Uyaralp got a throw-in 43 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Stoyo Dunov. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Murillo made a kick off. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aleks Vaskov in the 54th minute of play. Bennvar Toppinen charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bennvar Toppinen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 59th minute, Bennvar Toppinen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ni Guang Yong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 62nd minute of the game Traian Delas made a throw-in which Stoyo Dunov played forward. 65 minutes into the match, Peru's Luz Tejedor sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ni Guang Yong narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aleks Vaskov in the 68th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bennvar Toppinen in the 71st minute of play.
