But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexander Torres couldn't finish the play. A throw-in in the 30th minute of the game was made by Hugo Ferrant with Aaron Alcocer as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nicolás Guerrero came out and tried to block the shot, but Eliseo Noboa slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 37th minute of play forced Real Madrid de Guatemala's goalkeeper Nicolás Guerrero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Axel Tasis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nicolás Guerrero was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Lautaro Puig might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicolás Guerrero. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lautaro Puig ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolás Guerrero having to interfere. If Axel Tasis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 57 minutes into the game, Efrain Moruga threw the ball into play from the sideline. Real Madrid de Guatemala's Cristian Santamaria quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After 58 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Noboa. Angel Botello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Juan Rubio made in the 65th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Lautaro Puig. If Lautaro Puig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the match, Lautaro Puig notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Real Madrid de Guatemala's Nicolás Guerrero. Nicolás Guerrero was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Juan Rubio hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Angel Botello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Cristian Santamaria charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristian Santamaria the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 87th match minute, Real Madrid de Guatemala was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Santamaria to maneuver through the defense. Real Madrid de Guatemala's Emiliano Anaya quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Lautaro Puig, made in the 89th minute of the game. Efrain Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Lautaro Puig made in the 93rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Aaron Alcocer immediately put the ball in play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Costa Rica fans cheered their team off the field, for while Real Madrid de Guatemala had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
