Hipólito Neto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. Francisco Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Guillelmus having to interfere. Hipólito Neto might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joaquin Gayoso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hipólito Neto ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Gio Moreno's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquin Gayoso was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. 18 minutes into the match, Gio Moreno notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso. Algoso Warriors's Nestor Guillelmus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Gisbert in the 77th minute of play. In the 78th minute, Tarcísio Peixoto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 84th minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nestor Guillelmus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 84 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Sainz. After having played for 92 minutes, Gio Moreno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Algoso Warriors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gio Moreno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 93 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Sainz. When the final whistle went the supporters of Algoso Warriors were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Uruguay side.
