Bolivia's Camilo Freixa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angel Botello in the 7th minute of play. Angel Botello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camilo Freixa having to interfere. In the 10th minute, Alexander Torres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute Carmelo Sifon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Freixa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Carmelo Sifon put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Camilo Freixa. With an all-out effort, Bolivia's Sílvio Luiz Goiano threw himself towards the right post 22 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eduardo Fontirroig, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Bolivia's Eduardo Fontirroig got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute of the match Nicolás Guerrero sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Camilo Freixa skillfully saved the ball. If Cristian Santamaria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Angel Botello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexander Torres hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The supporters of Bolivia booed when Real Madrid de Guatemala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolás Guerrero didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 53rd play minutes Carmelo Sifon shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Camilo Freixa and just under the crossbar into goal. 58 minutes into the game, Real Madrid de Guatemala's Carmelo Sifon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Camilo Freixa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Angel Botello managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Madrid de Guatemala's supporters rose to their feet, but Angel Botello was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Camilo Freixa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Camilo Freixa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Santamaria, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Carmelo Sifons short, quick shot in the 67thth minute got Camilo Freixa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Nicolás Guerrero might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Camilo Freixa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicolás Guerrero ran back to his position shaking his head. Carmelo Sifon took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Camilo Freixa. Camilo Freixa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. In the 81st minute, Real Madrid de Guatemala's Carmelo Sifon dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-7. After 87 minutes, Cristian Santamaria made it 0-8 with a short kick to the right side. Bolivia's Camilo Freixa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carmelo Sifon in the 90th minute of play forced Bolivia's goalkeeper Camilo Freixa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Bolivia getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Alfonso de la Cruz hit a great ball.
