Marco Tamayo charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Dan Pintilie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sebastian Minulescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moises Fernandino, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Sebastian Minulescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moises Fernandino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. El Salvador's Moises Fernandino got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 43rd minute, Moises Fernandino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 47th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Moises Fernandino to maneuver through the defense.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Traian Pușcașu to strike the kick off in the second half. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by JUNIOR 2012's Dinu Murgoci. But to his dismay, Dinu Murgoci quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Sebastian Minulescu made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Moises Fernandino sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in El Salvador's zone, Traian Pușcașu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal and Traian Pușcașu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. JUNIOR 2012's Cătălin Nicolau was substituted for Traian Pușcașu. The crowd rose to their feet as Moises Fernandino kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sebastian Minulescu. That made the score 1-2 in the 65 minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Flavius Nechifor came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 70 minutes, Cătălin Nicolau made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 73rd minute, Dan Pintilie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sebastian Minulescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Moises Fernandino in the 77th minute. With a little luck, JUNIOR 2012's Sebastian Minulescu got control of the ball when Moises Fernandino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Abram Luque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jesus Carvallo kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, JUNIOR 2012's Flavius Nechifor got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The audience was convinced that Cătălin Nicolau's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ricardo Zorita was relentless in the 96th minute of the game.
