Real Madrid de Guatemala's defense didn't have a chance, in the 15th minute, when Eduardo Fontirroig scored to the left of an out of position Nicolás Guerrero, making the score, 1-0. Ismael Tejedor kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Camilo Freixa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexander Torres in the 34th minute of play. The throw-in from Ismael Tejedor in the 40th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Real Madrid de Guatemala's Shawn Carrillo. Angel Botello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camilo Freixa having to interfere. If Angel Botello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mario Fernandino made a kick off. The throw-in from Ismael Tejedor in the 52nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Real Madrid de Guatemala's Shawn Carrillo. Camilo Freixa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexander Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alexander Torres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Camilo Freixa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eduardo Fontirroig scored 2-0 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nicolás Guerrero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 65th minute Alfonso de la Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolás Guerrero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eduardo Fontirroig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolás Guerrero having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Mario Fernandino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nicolás Guerrero was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Alexander Torres's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Camilo Freixa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. The supporters of Real Madrid de Guatemala booed when Bolivia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joshua Miralles didn't get a good kick on the ball.
