After 3 played minutes Apostolis Polychronopoulos rounded Venezuela's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. 7 minutes into the game, Phaiakes Paraskevopoulos lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Apostolis Polychronopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute of the match FC NATIONAL got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Isidoro Heriberto ran over to the corner to take the kick. Apostolis Polychronopoulos scored 3-0 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Octavian Popescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Octavian Popescu let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 25th minute shot 5-0 at rihgt post. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Octavian Popescu sent off a good shot on target. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Apostolis Polychronopoulos in the 39th minute of the match. In the 41st minute of the game Francileudo Faarø made a throw-in which Akestes Bentihavas played forward. 45 minutes into the game, Octavian Popescu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Af the end of the first half the score was 7-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Apostolis Polychronopoulos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Apostolis Polychronopoulos struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC NATIONAL. In the 58th minute Octavian Popescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in FC NATIONAL's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bogdan Lobonț came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 64 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Octavian Popescu came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Apostolis Polychronopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC NATIONAL's supporters rose to their feet, but Apostolis Polychronopoulos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of FC NATIONAL booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Octavian Popescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Octavian Popescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-0. After 78 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gaos. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Isidoro Heriberto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Isidoro Heriberto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Apostolis Polychronopoulos in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Apostolis Polychronopoulos in the 82nd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phaiakes Paraskevopoulos in the 91st minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Octavian Popescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Octavian Popescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 10-0.
