Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damazy Joks in the 3rd minute of play. Gigel Botescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Damazy Joks in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Gisbert in the 22nd minute of play forced KS Olimpia Warszawa's goalkeeper Gigel Botescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
