An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 3rd minute of play forced FC NATIONAL's goalkeeper Bogdan Lobonț to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 9 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Apostolis Polychronopoulos came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phaiakes Paraskevopoulos, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phaiakes Paraskevopoulos in the 12th minute of the match. In the 14th match minute, FC NATIONAL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Octavian Popescu to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Apostolis Polychronopoulos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bogdan Lobonț didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. FC NATIONAL's Bogdan Lobonț played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute of play. Bogdan Lobonț showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. A collision led to FC NATIONAL getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Paraskevas Sorin hit a great ball. FC NATIONAL's Bogdan Lobonț played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 30th minute of play. Octavian Popescu struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC NATIONAL. In the 33rdth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC NATIONAL's Bogdan Lobonț was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bogdan Lobonț made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 35th minute of play. After 36 minutes FC NATIONAL's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Ecuador's Agustín Saelices to fire away a dangerous shot which Bogdan Lobonț despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 39th minute, Apostolis Polychronopoulos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Iulian Miu hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Apostolis Polychronopoulos made a kick off. FC NATIONAL's Phaiakes Paraskevopoulos got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 57th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Bogdan Lobonț was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Bogdan Lobonț showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 61st minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bogdan Lobonț narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Daniel Zorita took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Bogdan Lobonț to make any attempt to save it. Bogdan Lobonț made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Felix Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. In the 76th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bogdan Lobonț showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Bogdan Lobonț made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in FC NATIONAL's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. After 88 played minutes FC NATIONAL got a freekick which was hit by Mukul Muka. 94 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Apostolis Polychronopoulos came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ecuador eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
