The Real Madrid de Guatemala fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nicolás Guerrero should have stopped the shot. Francisco Secos short, quick shot in the 43rdth minute got Nicolás Guerrero to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 45th minute, Alberto Gisbert made a precise shot to the right of Nicolás Guerrero. Real Madrid de Guatemala's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 7-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Francisco Seco to strike the kick off in the second half. But to his dismay, Maximiliano Escribano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Francisco Seco put it in 9-0 from a short distance just to the right of Nicolás Guerrero. Nicolás Guerrero didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Francisco Seco went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 10-0 was the resulting score. In the 67th minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolás Guerrero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 69 played minutes Real Madrid de Guatemala got a freekick which was hit by Angel Botello. Alexander Torres's late challenge caught a Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
