Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mózes Bartha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th match minute, Szombathelyi Haladás was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jakab Szekeres to maneuver through the defense. Andor Mester made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jaime Pardo in the 20th minute. 25 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goal looked a bit too open when Nándor Jászberényi came free, but Jacobo Nores reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paraguay's Ivan Prats quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Olivér Hegedűs, made in the 31st minute of the game. Olivér Hegedűs made in the 35th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias. After a defensive mix-up in Paraguay's zone, Olivér Hegedűs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacobo Nores came out of the goal and Olivér Hegedűs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olivér Hegedűs, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 43 minutes into the match, Szombathelyi Haladás's goalkeeper Andor Mester had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jaime Pardo. After 44 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Alan Campos. Endre Tóth kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mózes Bartha made a kick off. Jaime Pardo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Szombathelyi Haladás's István Szőlősi got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 70 minutes into the game, Mózes Bartha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Szombathelyi Haladás's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paraguay the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Szombathelyi Haladás's zone, Primitivo Escribano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andor Mester came out of the goal and Primitivo Escribano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 77th minute, Endre Tóth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paraguay's Jaime Pardo got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hector Covarrubias struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Andor Mester didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraguay. Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Olivér Hegedűs in the 86 minute of the game. The supporters of Szombathelyi Haladás booed when Paraguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Diego Tenorio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paraguay walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
