The audience was convinced that Nemesio Cordareo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Björklund got free with Julio Vera in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. In the 67th minute Uno Deckberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Taliban FC's Nordine Nasri couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 69th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Ecuador. Mohamed Abrika struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Taliban FC. Taliban FC made a substitution. The referee showed Djamel Mansouri the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Taliban FC's Djamel Mansouri got a free kick in the 88th minute. After 89 played minutes Taliban FC got a freekick which was hit by Walid Prévost. Taliban FC's Chaba Yahia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Taliban FC from getting a goal against them. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
