The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Fjölnir Bergsson took the kick off in the first half of the match. 3 minutes into the match, Fjölnir Bergsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thiago Pliego. Chile's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fjölnir Bergsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 7th minute, Mariano Lacasa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Naike Abalos was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Mariano Lacasa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Naike Abalos came out and tried to block the shot, but Mariano Lacasa slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 11th minute. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Colas in the 15th minute of play. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnaldo Colas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute La Mandarina Mecánica were awarded a corner. Elias Leimann went to the cornerflag to take it. La Mandarina Mecánica's Elias Leimann was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Thiago Pliego in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Guillermo Fontirroig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Klement Gdowski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thiago Pliego having to make a save. Mariano Lacasa was slow to take the kick. During this time Chile's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Chile's corner Xavier Figueroa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Naike Abalos quite easily take care of the ball. Chile's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mariano Lacasa in the 93rd minute. Pedro Indiano was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. There was no doubt that Chile were the better team. Chile's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
