Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Costa Rica's Axel Tasis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nuevo Horizonte were furious when Benigno Chago was red carded, 10 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Abel Carballo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Juan Rubio hit a great ball. Baldomero Lapurdi's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Benito Sanz firmly grabbed it by the left post. Eliseo Noboa's late challenge caught a Nuevo Horizonte's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eliseo Noboa helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Eliseo Noboa hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Baldomero Lapurdi in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Niceto Virila showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Benito Sanz didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 24th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. The supporters of Nuevo Horizonte booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Alcocer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nuevo Horizonte's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Honorio Aztore in the 29th minute. 29 minutes into the game, Feliberto Ramirez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nuevo Horizonte's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Nuevo Horizonte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Feliberto Ramirez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Niceto Virila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aaron Alcocer in the 33rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Baldomero Lapurdi tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 37th match minute, Nuevo Horizonte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Feliberto Ramirez to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

55 minutes into the match, Eliseo Noboa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Niceto Virila, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomero Lapurdi in the 64th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baldomero Lapurdi in the 69th minute of play. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulino Katia in the 70th minute of the match. After 73 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Puig. In the 75th minute, Baldomero Lapurdi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Honorio Aztore stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Honorio Aztore tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 80 minutes into the game, Honorio Aztore cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With his leg Niceto Virila managed to avoid a goal in the 85thth minute, when Costa Rica's Axel Tasis fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 93rd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Noboa to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th match minute, Nuevo Horizonte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baldomero Lapurdi to maneuver through the defense. When the referee ended the match the Nuevo Horizonte players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
