Zé Dos Reis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Türk Polis Gücü's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Edmund Dulemba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 14th minute of play forced Türk Polis Gücü's goalkeeper Edmund Dulemba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edmund Dulemba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 19th minute of play forced Türk Polis Gücü's goalkeeper Edmund Dulemba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edmund Dulemba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 20th minute of play. In the 21st minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmund Dulemba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute of the match Türk Polis Gücü got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Yngve Lindqvist ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Yngve Lindqvist got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Edmund Dulemba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Zé Dos Reis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Julio Vera. The goal made the score 1-1. In the 33rd minute of the game Primitivo Andino made a throw-in which Daniel Zorita played forward. The Türk Polis Gücü fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edmund Dulemba should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Zé Dos Reis made the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Dos Reis in the 52nd minute of the match. Zé Dos Reis scored 2-2 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 58 minutes into the match, Türk Polis Gücü's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Edmund Dulemba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edmund Dulemba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Türk Polis Gücü made a substitution. Okan Buruk replaced Zaquiel Puredo. Türk Polis Gücü's Poyraz Özkoc was substituted for Erhan Sarıoğlu. Türk Polis Gücü made a substitution. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zaid Cevahir couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Zaid Cevahir stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Zaid Cevahir tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Poyraz Özkoc came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Türk Polis Gücü fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Poyraz Özkoc couldn't finish the play. Türk Polis Gücü's Edmund Dulemba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 96th minute of play. The Türk Polis Gücü players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
