Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Delmiro Ferrer in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Gayoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Francisco Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Omar Abadia having to interfere. In the 43rd match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Seco to maneuver through the defense. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joaquin Gayoso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Delmiro Ferrer in the 53rd minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Camilo Franco struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Omar Abadia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. The audience thought a goal was coming when Conrado Garci got free with Joaquin Gayoso in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 72nd match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. Barbudos FC's Franco Beccari got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A sloppy throw-in by Arturo Carvallo in the 84th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Barbudos FC's Virgil Van Dijk. In the 87th minute Franco Beccari shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
