Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilhelm Nienhaus, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Joel Gaona notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Hertha 1969's Rune Jarstein. Rune Jarstein was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Hertha 1969 getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Zé Paulo da Silva hit a great ball. 26 minutes into the game, Mexico's Joel Gaona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rune Jarstein made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Hertha 1969's Rune Jarstein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 28th minute of play. Rune Jarstein took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Hertha 1969's goalkeeper Rune Jarstein, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Hertha 1969 defense, Alberto Tafalla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rune Jarstein. The Hertha 1969 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rune Jarstein should have stopped the shot. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Gigel Elenescu sent off a good shot on target. Rune Jarstein was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rune Jarstein made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. Rune Jarstein came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Alberto Tafalla. But to his dismay, Alberto Tafalla quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5. In the 64th minute of the match, Joel Gaona tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rune Jarstein saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gigel Elenescu in the 70th minute of the match. In the 72nd minute, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rune Jarstein. Rune Jarstein yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-6. Hertha 1969 made a substitution. Kristian Oswald replaced Benedikt Bensch. Hertha 1969 made a substitution. Hertha 1969's defense didn't have a chance, in the 79th minute, when Alberto Tafalla scored to the left of an out of position Rune Jarstein, making the score, 2-7. 82 minutes into the match, Hertha 1969's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Zorita came free, but Rune Jarstein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nils Hovermann in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. Rune Jarstein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 84th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo got a free kick in the 86th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Mancebo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rune Jarstein breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mexico eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
