Carlos Alberto Salgado came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emil Scobioalã in the 27th minute of play. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Alberto Salgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 35th minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. In the 43rd minute of the game, Joshua Secada landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Vladimir Griceanu hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. UFC Puturoasa's Alphonso Davies was substituted for Vladimir Griceanu. UFC Puturoasa's Teodor Cociu was substituted for Lars Stålman. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alphonso Davies during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alphonso Davies hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 88th minute. After 91 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Venegas. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Emil Scobioalã put it in 7-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant.
