In the 6th minute of the match Daniel Zorita sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Everardo Ado skillfully saved the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Algarrobo's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Everardo Ado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luis Andino charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luis Andino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Diego Armando Lamb went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. In the 46th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.
The wind increased when Diego Armando Lamb made the kick off in the second half. In the 50thth minute of the game Agustín Saelices who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Algarrobo's Everardo Ado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Everardo Ado made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Diego Armando Lamb put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Algarrobo's Wilfredo Marchetti was substituted for Rafael Nadal. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Algarrobo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Tomás Talamilla didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 65th minute, Cristian Sancho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Everardo Ado. The goal made the score 4-2. Luis Andino might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Everardo Ado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luis Andino ran back to his position shaking his head. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jimeno Carrera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Daniel Zorita took a quick shot and it went in 5-3 without a chance for Everardo Ado to make any attempt to save it. In the 91st match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. Algarrobo's Jimeno Carrera got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dani Alves kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita, 95 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal.
