An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Montenegro in the 22nd minute of play forced Fc Benefica's goalkeeper Mitchel Dijkstra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Leandro Soares took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Pedro Manzanares to make any attempt to save it. Ture Asklöv made in the 28th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Damien Bakker immediately put the ball in play. Pedro Manzanares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leandro Soares's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. In the 32nd minute of the match Colombia got a corner. Fc Benefica's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Axel Montenegro ran over to the corner to take the kick. Pepe Guardiola tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Mitchel Dijkstra. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-1 in the 32nd minute. Axel Montenegro took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mitchel Dijkstra. Mitchel Dijkstra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Colombia from getting a goal against them. 42 minutes into the match, Leandro Soares notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Colombia's Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Leandro Soares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abram Sarmiento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Colombia's zone, Leandro Soares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal and Leandro Soares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 52 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Leandro Soares came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mitchel Dijkstra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 53rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Fc Benefica's Mitchel Dijkstra got control of the ball when Pascual Carballar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Soares in the 64th minute of play. Leandro Soares might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Manzanares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leandro Soares ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leandro Soares in the 66th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Fc Benefica's Humberto Jonge got a free kick in the 68th minute. Fc Benefica made a substitution. Denis Beremundo replaced Humberto Jonge. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. After 69 played minutes Fc Benefica got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Jonge. Leandro Soares scored 3-2 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Leandro Soares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With an all-out effort, Colombia's Mitchel Dijkstra threw himself towards the right post 77 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ignacio Mastache, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 78th minute, Leandro Soares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. David Wilmink kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 84th minute, Luis Cazalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mitchel Dijkstra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Secada in the 87th minute of play. Mitchel Dijkstra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kevin Mastache in the 89th minute. Leandro Soares struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Pedro Manzanares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fc Benefica. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Soares in the 92nd minute of play. 93 minutes into the game, Leandro Soares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-2. Pedro Manzanares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pascual Carballar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mitchel Dijkstra having to interfere. Fc Benefica's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
