Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Helmuth Duckadam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 8th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vintilă Barascu got free with Julio Vera in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Ticul's Alexandru Chinezu got a free kick in the 12th minute. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 14 minutes of play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Helmuth Duckadam was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Helmuth Duckadam. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Helmuth Duckadam showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Vintilă Barascu sent off a good shot on target. Vintilă Barascu in the 28thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Lucian Josan's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lucian Josan helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Ticul getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Lucian Josan hit a great ball. Vintilă Barascu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Helmuth Duckadam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of the match. 36 minutes into the game, one of Ticul:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vintilă Barascu in the 39th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Helmuth Duckadam breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vintilă Barascu in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 56 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Daniel Zorita's shot from long distance in the 59th minute was not bad at all, but Ticul's Helmuth Duckadam knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. David Israeli kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valeriu Tatomir, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Helmuth Duckadam made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Stelian Gorun kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Helmuth Duckadam made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 74th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vintilă Barascu in the 75th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 79 minutes into the match, Ticul's goalkeeper Helmuth Duckadam had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. In the 82ndth minute of the game Cristian Sancho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ticul's Helmuth Duckadam was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 83 minutes Ticul's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Luis Andino fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Helmuth Duckadam quite easily take care of the ball. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stelian Gorun's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stelian Gorun helped the player get up and apologised. After 92 played minutes Ticul got a freekick which was hit by Stelian Gorun. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
