In the 10th minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mitchel Dijkstra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Luis Cazalla got a free kick in the 12th minute. After 18 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Colombia! Pedro Manzanares had in the 20thth minute some difficulties stopping Leandro Soares's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 2-0 came in the 20th minute when Leandro Soares all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Axel Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 31 minutes into the game, Leandro Soares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Pedro Manzanares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pedro Manzanares was out of position in the 36 minute of play, and Leandro Soares capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Leandro Soares really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. After 40 minutes Fc Benefica's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Axel Montenegro who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Axel Montenegro almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Fc Benefica's Mitchel Dijkstra did a great save. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Orlando Tafalla got a free kick in the 44th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Abram Sarmiento made the kick off in the second half. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Soares in the 52nd minute of play. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. Fc Benefica's Denis Beremundo was substituted for Humberto Jonge. Orlando Tafalla made in the 67th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Santino Seco however managed to control. After 70 minutes Fc Benefica's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kevin Mastache who took care of the corner kick. A well done corner resulted in Pascual Carballar drilling the ball in to score 4-2 behind Fc Benefica's goalkeeper. The supporters of Colombia booed when Fc Benefica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damien Bakker didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Fc Benefica's Mitchel Dijkstra got control of the ball when Abram Secada tried to sneak it across the goal line. Abram Secadas short, quick shot in the 75thth minute got Mitchel Dijkstra to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Abram Secada took a quick shot and it went in 4-3 without a chance for Mitchel Dijkstra to make any attempt to save it. Mitchel Dijkstra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santino Seco in the 82nd minute of play. In the 84th minute of the game Orlando Tafalla made a throw-in which Santino Seco played forward. Abram Secada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mitchel Dijkstra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abram Secada in the 85th minute. Mitchel Dijkstra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ignacio Mastache in the 87th minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Abram Secada ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mitchel Dijkstra was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-4. Kevin Mastache hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match.
