In the 10th minute, Harry Meikleham hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SANFINS VLP's David Prada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 12th minute of play. After 13 minutes SANFINS VLP's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. David Prada stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. In the 16th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Prada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Prada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. If Zhuang Fan Zhen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised David Prada. David Prada dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 37 minutes into the match, SANFINS VLP's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but David Prada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 44th minute, Zhuang Fan Zhen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Claudio Caniggia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudio Caniggia's shot from short distance in the 50th minute. David Prada made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 51st minute. Basílio Silveira hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. David Prada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 53rd minute of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. David Prada came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 58th minute. In the 61st minute Claudio Caniggia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 62nd minute of play forced SANFINS VLP's goalkeeper David Prada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Prada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but David Prada made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with David Prada in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a free kick in the 74th minute. 84 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that David Prada narrowly saved just below the crossbar. SANFINS VLP's David Prada proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save SANFINS VLP from getting a goal against them. In the 90th minute, Daniel Zorita reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of David Prada. The goal made the score 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in SANFINS VLP's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Prada came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The SANFINS VLP fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
