Joel Gaona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Prospero Goethe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. In the 29th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Friesenwerdermoor's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Artur Schade hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Friesenwerdermoor's Hermann Luscher got a free kick in the 38th minute. Hermann Luscher blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dante Lacasa having to make a save. In the 43rd minute, Alberto Tafalla left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Artur Schade kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. After 93 played minutes Friesenwerdermoor got a freekick which was hit by Ingemar Mense. Mexico's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
