The audience thought a goal was coming when Antonello Roccuzzo got free with Joaquin Gayoso in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 19th minute, SHIZUOKA FC's Antonello Roccuzzo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Thanks to some nice moves Antonello Roccuzzo could shoot a difficult shot in the 23rd minute, which Joaquin Gayoso however easily saved by the left post. In the 26th match minute, SHIZUOKA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Du Wei Hui to maneuver through the defense. When Fede Valverde fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SHIZUOKA FC's protests and gave Fede Valverde a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in SHIZUOKA FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 26th minute. Penalty! Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogelio Policarpio, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Antonello Roccuzzo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 37 minutes into the game, Rogelio Policarpio lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Joaquin Gayoso. Rogelio Policarpio succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-0 in the 41st playminute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Antonello Roccuzzo was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Antonello Roccuzzo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquin Gayoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by SHIZUOKA FC's Rogelio Policarpio. But to his dismay, Rogelio Policarpio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Camilo Franco came free with the goalkeeper in the 57th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dário Pinho could save by the left post. Alberto Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Camilo Franco hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by SHIZUOKA FC's Rogelio Policarpio. But to his dismay, Rogelio Policarpio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. After 66 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Sainz. Bruno Beldad hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. After 69 played minutes, SHIZUOKA FC's Sekou Mára shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SHIZUOKA FC reached it. Rogelio Policarpio struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SHIZUOKA FC. Maximiliano Escribano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonello Roccuzzo in the 78th minute of play. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Uruguay's goalie and right to Guaberto Lugo. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Uruguay's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Dário Pinho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maximiliano Escribano's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. A beautiful save bye SHIZUOKA FC's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of SHIZUOKA FC booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximiliano Escribano didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonello Roccuzzo in the 83rd minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Everardo Hever kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Francisco Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SHIZUOKA FC's Rogelio Policarpio got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Uruguay's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because SHIZUOKA FC had won, even though Uruguay had held more of the ball.
